Navigation & Interactivity

The comprehensive collection of document navigation and interactivity features allow you to create high-impact user experiences with ease.

Navigation Pane

A Customizable document navigation UI.

Navigation Pane

The navigation pane displays bookmarks and attachments associated with a PDF document. The panel uses a table of contents UI metaphor and allows you to execute actions (open a file attachment or go to a bookmark). You can customize the width of a navigation pane and control its visibility/state (expanded, collapsed, visible, hidden) as necessary.

Open and save attached files.

Attachements linked to a PDF document can be opened and saved to disc. An option to control security warnings when opening files is available.

Open saved bookmarks with ease.

When you click on a bookmark, the PDF Viewer displays the linked page (or web page). Bookmarks can be displayed within a hierarchical tree inside the Navigation Pane to help simplify document navigation. Customization options include the ability to hide the Navigation Pane once a bookmark is selected, wrap long lines and modify text size.

Zoom & Scroll

Bring it closer or move it away.

Zoom & Scroll

Just like Adobe's PDF Reader, you can zoom in and out of a document via Ribbon buttons, pinch & zoom touch gestures, mouse scroll wheel or keyboard shortcuts. Alternatively, you can use zoom factors such as Actual size, zoom to page, fit to width, fit to visible and any custom zoom level (%). For proper page orientation when viewing a PDF document, the control includes both a Rotate Clockwise and Rotate Counterclockwise commands.

Hyperlinks & Annotations

Jump to the right location.

Hyperlinks & Annotations

Hyperlinks can point to a page, an external document or to URI (uniform resource identifier). Stamps or annotations that are incorporated into a PDF document are rendered automatically.

Navigation History & Search

Built-in Find and navigation histories.

Navigation History & Search

The control stores page view history and allows users to navigate back and forth between individual views as needed. And just like Adobe's Reader, you can search for PDF content using the Find panel (options include case-sensitive and whole word search).
"For years now I've enjoyed working with DevExpress controls - both WinForms and WPF. What I enjoy most is the stability of the products and super-fast and accurate support from your support team." Robert Kurtanjek

Forms, Document Types and Clipboard Operations

Our Viewer does not simply render documents - it allows your users to edit form fields, initiate clipboard operations and import/exprot AcroForm data as needed.

Interactive Forms

Edit documents with form fields.

Interactive Forms

Once you've integrated the Viewer in your project, your users can edit any PDF document that includes form field information. The Control renders each field based upon its associated form type - text box, radio button, combo box with auto complete, check box and lists.

AcroForm data import/export.

If your document includes AcroForm data (interactive forms that contain input fields), you can import from or export to the following formats: FDF, XFDF, XML and TXT.

Copy text to the clipboard.

Use standard shortcuts and menu items to select and copy text from an active document to the Windows clipboard. As you'd expect, the control's API includes both a Select and CopyToClipboard methods.

Copy Images

Copy an image to the clipboard.

Copy Images

To copy an entire image (or any portion thereof), highlight it with the "Select" tool (enabled by default) and use the built-in Copy command in the Popup menu or the CTRL+C keyboard shortcut.

Passwords & Document Info

Work with password-protected documents.

Passwords & Document Info

The PDF Viewer Control supports password-protected documents and provides built-in UI so that end-users can enter their credentials in order to get access to the file.
