VCL v23.2 — Support for RAD Studio 12.1 Patch 1

VCL Team Blog
26 April 2024

Kudos and a big thanks to Embarcadero for their quick turnaround on the RSS-536 incompatibility issue for the Delphi 64-bit compiler (please apply this patch if you installed RAD Studio 12.1 previously). From RAD Studio 12.1 Athens Patch 1 Available:

Embarcadero released a patch for RAD Studio, Delphi, and C++Builder 12.1 Athens. This patch addresses some issues in RAD Studio 12.1, around the new editor split view feature of the IDE, the Delphi 64-bit compiler when building packages, debugging, and strings. This patch is about 517MB to download.

As some of you may know, this compiler-related issue affected some in our VCL developer community: It is not possible to install VCL components to RAD Studio 12.1 Athens due to RichEditControl incompatibility issues To address this problem, we proactively published an EAP v24.1 build with a temporary workaround for early adopters.

This week, we released a RAD Studio 12.1-compatible build of our VCL product line (v23.2.6) because our x64 workaround is no longer necessary. As always, we thank you for your continued support and feedback - please contact us if you encounter issues with v23.2 or have suggestions on upcoming v24.1 features.
