Our Newest Release for Delphi and C++Builder Developers

With this release, DevExpress continues its 15 year commitment to the Delphi and C++Builder developer community by extending its product line with powerful new features designed to help VCL developers build next-generation user experiences on the Windows platform. From Office-inspired desktop applications, to touch-enabled mobile solutions targeting Windows 8.1 and tablet devices like Surface Pro, the DevExpress VCL Subscription delivers the capabilities developers need to leverage existing skillsets and technology investments in order to meet tomorrow’s challenges head-on.

What’s New in DevExpress VCL 13.2

Touch-First Experiences on the VCL Platform

With this release, DevExpress continues to add touch-enabled capabilities across its VCL product line. The following VCL controls are now optimized for touch-first user experiences:

  • Filter Control
  • Page Control
  • Tab Control
  • Date Editor
  • Blob Editor
  • Per-Pixel Data Scrolling

DevExpress VCL 13.2 adds per-pixel scrolling to the ExpressQuantumTreeList, ExpressVerticalGrid, and ExpressQuantumGrid Layout Views. When used in Touch mode, pixel scrolling is enabled by default.

Windows 8 Inspired Tile Control

The DevExpress VCL Tile Control has been updated to support the tile layout options shipping as part of Windows 8.1, including small tiles, group caption editing, and multi-tile rearrangement using drag and drop. In addition, the Tile Control allows VCL developers to turn tiles into elegant contact lists or photo galleries with mosaic effects similar to that found in the Windows Phone People Hub.

New Application-Wide Themes

The DevExpress application-wide theme collection has been extended with 4 new themes inspired by Microsoft Windows 8 and Office 2013.

Professionally Designed Icon Library

The DevExpress Icon Library is a rich collection of icons and images created by the DevExpress design team and ships with an easy-to-use design-time Image Picker. The Icon Library provides both full color and grayscale images to address a wide range of business requirements.

Updated VCL Layout Control

New visual indicators, streamlined drag and drop operations and fine-tuned control over dynamically generated layout items in the Layout Control means that runtime form customization is easier than ever before.

New Color Picker Control

The advanced version of the standard Color selection dialog from DevExpress makes color selection straightforward. With support for DevExpress app-wide themes and alpha channel information, this new control extends the capabilities of shipping color editing controls and tools.
