Look & Feel Technology

Our Look & Feel technology provides you with the ability to apply a standard visual style to your entire application and makes switching this style as simple as changing a single option. Along side our Style Management Architecture, Look & Feel allows you to produce state-of-the-art UIs in an elegant manner - without having to write a single line of code!

Each control within the ExpressQuantumGrid, ExpressQuantumTreeList, ExpressScheduler, ExpressPivotGrid, and ExpressVerticalGrid Suites (including editors in the ExpressEditors Library) supports this Look & Feel technology and has a LookAndFeel property which controls external display elements, such as scrollbar style and 3D emphasis on separation lines and buttons. Like Styles, a common Look & Feel controller allows you to maintain the same look and feel settings across all controls on your forms.

  Developer Express VCL controls offer you five predefined Look and Feel styles to choose from: Standard, Flat, UltraFlat, Office 2003, and Windows XP (native) themes.
• Centralized Look & Feel Control with the LookAndFeelController
  It's incredibly easy to specify Look & Feel settings across an entire application via our LookAndFeelController.
• Applying Look and Feel Options at Design Time
  You can apply a visual style to any control that supports the Look & Feel technology at design time. With this capability, you are no longer restricted by the limitations found in Borland’s Window XP Manifest and can view the resulting appearance without having to run your application!
• Windows XP Themes in Older Versions of Delphi
  Want your application to use the latest XP Themes, but don't have the latest version of Delphi? No problem - our Look & Feel technology will work with all versions of Delphi/ C++Builder v5 upwards (Win32 only).
