                                  • Hello,

I have a report with drilldown enabled so that a user can expand a group header row and display a number of detail rows beneath.  I am seeing an issue when a user goes to expand a detail row before a previously-initiated action (such as expanding a different row) has finished - when the "creating the document" dialog is still visible.  In these cases, all of the report's data disappears and the user is presented with a blank page.  An exception that reads "System.ServiceModel.FaultException: The document is not found. Please try opening the document once again." gets raised when this behavior occurs.

Is this behavior by design and expected to happen?  The user has to re-load the report entirely to see any more data from it.  If this is incorrect behavior, can you please describe what should be happening in this circumstance?

                                    Thanks,
                                        Justin Owen

                                  Hello Justin,
I am going to discuss this behavior with our developers, and I will get back to you once I have any results.

                                  Hello,
The exception you mentioned should be raised only on the server and it should not be visible on a client side. So if this error message is visible on a client-side, please provide us with a sample video illustrating your actions when the issue occurs.

                                  Andrey,

The exception is not visible on the client side.  It was found in the logs.  My question has more to do with the state of the report after this exception gets raised.  Does the user have to re-load the report entirely after this exception occurs and the page goes blank?  Do the reporting components have some other functionality that I am missing?  Should the report they are looking at go blank in the first place?

                                  Thanks

I have attached a recording of the behavior.

                                  Hello Justin,
Thank you for the video. I was not able to reproduce the problem on my side. Please provide me with the layout of your report (an REPX file) and with an SQL script that will allow me to restore the structure of data used in the problematic report. Also, please clarify how many records each detail report can have. Take a look at the Save Report Layouts help topic to learn how to create an REPX file.
