                                  • Hi There, hope you can assist.

                                    We're busy testing the Dashboard component connected to MS Analysis Services Tabular Cube. It uses MSMDPump.dll in order to make use of XMLA, as MS does not support ADOMD for Core yet (As stated in your documentation).

                                    SSAS Tabular has a property you can specify in the connection string called "EffectiveUserName" which filters what the user can see based on their Identity. This should result in the following attribute in the property list in the DMX Query, but doesn't (We set up a trace in MS Profiler to view it)
                                    <PropertyList xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xml-analysis">

                                    We understand that the Dashboard does not officially support Tabular Cubes, but we'd like to see if there's a way to get the XMLA Client the dashboard uses, to interpret the connection string attribute correctly.

                                    Do you use a 3rd party XMLA Client that we can look into, or can we somehow override its behaviour?

                                    Any advice is appreciated.

                                  Hi Robert,

                                  I see that the requests we send to XMLA do not contain EffectiveUserName. I will forward this issue to our R&D team so that our developers can research this issue and check if we can support this attribute in the XMLA provider. We will update this ticket once we have any news.
