                                  • Hi,

The first time I open the Jump To Symbol box after opening a project, some of the filter options are cleared. I tick all the options, so that I can Jump to the Symbol, and everything is OK. But when I close and reopen the project the options are cleared again.

This issue has been annoying me for some time. I hardly ever want to actually filter the type of  symbol I am searching for anyway.

Here's a recording on this happening:

I was managed to reproduce it.
Please give us some time to prepare the correction. We will let you know when the changes are ready.

                                  Hi Dave,

We want to recreate the scenario as close as possible to yours.
For this could you please send us your "Jump To Symbol" settings.

To do this, check the Navigation folder in two locations:
                                  - in %appdata%. The path should be similar to the following one: %appdata%\CodeRush\Settings\Navigation\- in the solution folder. The path should be similar to the following one: {SolutionFolder}.cr\personal\Navigation\

Please zip these folders and send them to us.

The attached zip file contains the files under the following folders (excluding RecentFilesHistory.xml):

Note when open the solution in VS, open Jump To Symbol, set all settings to true, the QuickNav.xml file under {SolutionFolder}.cr\personal\Navigation\ changes to the one attached to this comment (all other QuickNav.xml files remain unchanged).

When I close VS, restart VS, open the solution, and open Jump To Symbol, the QuickNav.xml file under {SolutionFolder}.cr\personal\Navigation\ changes back to the version in the zip file above.

                                  Hi Dave,

I was managed to reproduce the problem with the settings you sent us.
We suppose that something goes wrong on merging the settings from two sources: appdata and the solution folder.

We will continue the research and let you know once we get additional information.
Now as a fast solution, I recommend you delete the QuickNav.xml file in the appdata folder (%appdata%\CodeRush\Settings\Navigation).

Please let us know if it helps.

                                  Hi Eugene,

Sorry for the delay responding. I can confirm that renaming the QuickNav.xml file in the appdata folder to QuickNav.xml, bak fixed the issue.

I have just installed, reverted QuickNav.xml, bak file back to QuickNav.xml, and can confirm that the file is deleted after opening a solution in VS 2017 (or VS 2019).

                                  Thanks for the quick fix.
