                                  • Hello,
                                    I have an application, with an Grid on it. I skin the grid whith Devxpress Skin but also in presenting a background image. The background color is set to transparent.
                                    .
                                    This works fine when I do not use WindowsFormsSettings.ForceDirectXPaint.

                                    To make the background color transparent I use this code:

                                                gridComputer.BackColor = Color.Transparent;
                                                gridViewComputer.Appearance.Row.Options.UseBackColor = true;
                                                gridViewComputer.Appearance.Row.BackColor = Color.Transparent;
                                                gridViewComputer.Appearance.Empty.Options.UseBackColor = true;
                                                gridViewComputer.Appearance.Empty.BackColor = Color.Transparent;

                                    To add the background image:

                                                    bmpBackground = (Image)_mResourceManagerDesign.GetObject($@"grid_bg_{szDesign}");
                                                    gridComputer.BackgroundImage = bmpBackground;

                                    Is this not possible when I use WindowsFormsSettings.ForceDirectXPaint, or do I need to take care of anything.

                                    Thanks and regards
                                    Uwe

                                  Hi Uwe,

                                  I have also noticed the described behavior. Please stay tuned. I have passed this ticket to our developers.
                                  We will update this thread as soon as we have any results.

                                Hi Uwe,

                                I've discussed this behavior with our developers and would like to inform you that currently DirectX controls do not support transparency. If you need transparency, disable the use of DirectX.
                                Should you have further questions, let me know.

                                  Thanks Igot. Does it mean, that it is currently not possible and will be changed/corrected in a future version or that DirectX controls will not be able to be transparent also in the near future ?

                                  DirectX Hardware Acceleration is a new technology, so for now it does not support all features.
                                  We plan to expand the number of controls that will support DirectX, as well as expand the functionality.
                                  Since transparency is a global task, we cannot estimate how much time we will need to implement it.
                                  Once this feature is ready, we will publish relevant information on our What's New page.
