                                  • We are attempting to upgrade one of our ASP XAF 9.2 applications to XAF 9.3 and are receiving the error 'The type 'DevExpress.ExpressApp.Web.ImageResourceHttpHandler' is ambiguous...'.

                                    I have attached a zip file containing the error details and our web.config file.

                                    1. Prior to upgrading I removed all files from bin and obj folders
                                    2. I have ran the project converter - it ran successfully.
                                    3. I have rebuilt the solution.
                                    4. The Web.Config file does have 2 references to the ImageResourceHTTPHandler; however, It worked OK in the 9.2 version, and I have tested it with the 2nd occuance (line 238) commented out (just the <add verb.../> segment) and the error still occured.
                                    5. I still have XAF 9.2.6 installed.

                                    How can I resolve this issue?

                                    Thanks for your help, John

                                It's raised by ASP.NET and it's not DX problem. You should follow the solution provided in the end of the error message.

                                Hi Dennis,

                                I'm confused why you do not consider this a DevX issue. The app ran OK in version 9.2. After upgrading the app to 9.3 (with no code changes) it no longer runs and we receive the error noted in this issue.

                                I ended up resolving this error by following your suggestion to do what the error text suggests and I changed the following line in the Web.Config file
                                From:
                                <add verb="*" path="ImageResource.axd" type="DevExpress.ExpressApp.Web.ImageResourceHttpHandler" />

                                To:
                                <add verb="*" path="ImageResource.axd" type="DevExpress.ExpressApp.Web.ImageResourceHttpHandler, DevExpress.ExpressApp.Web.v9.3, Version=9.3.2.0, culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b88d1754d700e49a" />

                                Shouldn't the updater of made this change?

                                This error went away; however, another error occurs which I will send as a seperate issue.

                                Thanks for your help
                                John
