                                  • My project has a Ribbon form. I added a BarManager (with only a Main Menu), and then added a PopupMenu, with the Manager set to the BarManager The Ribbon is set to None. After adding several button items to the menu, I get the error "There is already a command handler for the menu command '5efc7975-14bc-11cf-9b2b-00aa00573819 : 17". I deleted both the BarManager and the PopupMenu and re-created them, but I still get the error. Closing the project and re-opening it will let the application run, but when I return to design mode it reappears.

                                • Hi John,

Could you please provide us with a sample illustrating your issue?
We will examine it, and do our best to help you.

This is the only project I have done that is having this issue. When I create a small sample app, it works fine. I have included a small project that has a similar structure as far as the types of controls involved. I tried to create it using the same steps I used in my main project (I have a feeling I have probably created the menus in a very un-logical sequence).

I have also included the main form (frmMain) from the app that is having the issue, but it is part of a large Sql based app that would be more difficult for you to get to run. If you need the entire project let me know and I will send it. The call stack from the error is:

There is already a command handler for the menu command '5efc7975-14bc-11cf-9b2b-00aa00573819 : 17'.

                                • Hi John,

I'm afraid that the information you provided is still not enough, because our developers are not able to reproduce the problem. Moreover, from the attached callstack I see that, most probably, this issue isn't related to our controls. If you take a close look at the callstack, you will notice that it has nothing in common with our suites. The exception is raised when the ControlCommandSet design-time component is created. Anyway, if you need us to further research this issue, please attach a project reproducing the problem and describe exact steps to reproduce it. I have marked this issue as private to prevent this information from being accessed by other customers.

Thanks for the info. My concern was that there are no other menus in the application other than a DevExpress PopupMenu. Is there any way to track down Guid 5efc7975-14bc-11cf-9b2b-00aa00573819 in the code to find out what type of control it is?

Since my last post, I noticed that my project had a reference to an old version of the Microsoft PowerPack shape control. I have removed that, and the issue (so far) appears to have gone away. It was the error message's reference to a menu command that made me wonder about your PopUpMenu control.

I'll consider the issue closed. Thanks for your help.

Confirming that once i removed the PowerPacks, my problems went away. I too had the exact problem mentioned above. All my controls, including the form were devexpress based.

                                  Thanks for the post!

I would like to thank Coffeehouse for clarification. Same situation was in my application. I have installed ASAP utilities for Excel, wich cause the problem. Uninstall and i am done.
