No amount of marketing hype and hyperbole can mask a company’s ability to deliver products that meet and exceed customer expectations. The following is a brief list of comments sent to us from our end-users – developers such as yourself who don’t have time and money to waste – developers who need to get down to business and address client needs in the shortest possible timeframe.

Working with devexpress for more than 3 years now, and still I discover new excellent possibilities on a daily basis! Way to go guys, your developer suite rocks!

Cristian Pamfiloiu (Inter DataSoft)

I would like to congratulate you for your products. I will always stay with you guys because of the quality of your product and services.

Michael Lang (CTL Computertechnik Lang)

The eXpressApp Framework of DevExpress is the most powerful tool I ever programed with. All other DevExpress tools are very good as well, but XAF is an outstanding product that every business application programmer makes his life very much easier. The best thing about DevExpress is the support that is unparalleled in the software industry. It is staffed by people only that are in heart and mind in the matter they consider it as their duty to help the customer.

Peter Klein (WayPoint7 Software)

Since 2009 we have been using your products as add-in to MS Visual Studio. And it really improves the quality of software we are able to develop. At first we simply love CodeRush, that makes us more productive. During the development process it happens that it looks wise to restructure the codebase. Who does not recognize this? Come on! Be honest! Working agile/scrum one boxes certain stages/subjects, but in the longer run some redesign can be necessary. Enter CodeRush and Duplicate Code Analysis. Those features have saved us hours if not days or even weeks of tedious searching through the code. Never had we been able to improve the quality of our work without that.

Next to these product features, there is really, really excellent support. Within a timeframe of max one day (most of the times even faster) we get responses to product-related questions we have. Adequate and to the point. Of course the quality of an answer depends on the quality of the question. See what I mean? But never a case remains unsolved. And in the forest of program-code, html, javascript, css and of course DevExpress features, your support people are able to provide answers. And in the case where it in fact appears to be a let's say Java-related issue, you don't start an argument that it's not DevExpress product related. That's highly appreciated!

Brian Kennemer, Microsoft Project MVP (Projectified Consulting)

I'm not what I would call a "real" developer. I am a consultant that has been writing VBA within Microsoft Project for years and recently decided to start converting some of the old VBA Macros over to VB.Net and improve them a bit. CodeRush was a big help to me in that it reminded me about some of the little things that might have caused me problems and pointed out ways to improve my code technique. In one of my projects I needed to graph some data and the chart controls in DevExpress seemed not only more flexible and powerful but also a bit easier to understand for me as someone that does not spend their life inside of Visual Studio. For me that has been the key thing for me with DevExpress. It made the whole Visual Studio experience easier to manage as I was ramping up and moving from VBA to VB.Net.

I want to express, that your (I can tell from my experience the VCL line) products are TOP and with every refactoring I am trying to eliminate other 3rd party controls with yours. But not only your products are great, but also the smooth installation and user handling on the website!

Conrad Akunga

Does any product stand out? Definitely XtraReports. Worth its weight in gold! Any developer looking to easily develop professional looking, functional software and save time need look no further than DevExpress Suite.

John Hall

Outstanding products and unbelievable support.

As a small shop developer, we don't have the luxury of being able to ask other in-house developers what to do when we get stuck. We depend on Google and forums (for the easy stuff) and the DevExpress Tech Support Team (for the tougher stuff).

We received unbeliveable technical support on more than several occasions from the incredible DevExpress Tech Support Team (yes, they are).

While re-writting an ASP.NET web app with a MSSQL backend and got stuck on a few occasions. The plan is to redo the design and replace all the Microsoft Controls and AJAX Toolkit controls using DevExpress Controls. The driving force is that the DevExpress controls are so function rich and fast. Not to mention they look way better for our app.

During the conversion, some technical issues stopped the progress. Creating a few support tickets brought solutions. This was hoped for, but the level of detail was not really expected. We received actual code samples back that applied to our exact issue. Amazing. After receiving the solutions, the technical issues were completely resolved so we could move on to the next stage of development.

Mario Blatarić (Logon Ltd.)

Today my first XAF project went into production stage and it's now being used by 200 people. Five months ago when I was starting this and chose XAF as technology for the project, I had no idea how that will turn out. Didn't know XAF, didn't do large web projects before, my Domain Model skills where non-existent (which just proved how flexible XAF is since I used it in very non-optimal way, refactoring is the next step) - but it worked quite well (heavily customized web scheduler application) mostly because DevExpress support guys were really, well supportive :) and full of patience (I'm sure they have my account printed out as darts target :)) since I sometimes behave like spoiled brat that wanted everything and now :) Neither XAF nor support are perfect, but I'd say they are both as good as it gets.

So, thank you for everything, DevExpress Support. I'm definitely renewing and starting two more projects and I just wanted you to know that my annoyances until now were just a beginning :)

To all people not sure whether to take XAF or not - take it. It's not like there is any comparable alternative and DevExpress guys will help you out through just about any obstacle you hit.

Chet Gifford, Senior Application Developer (Sunquest Information Systems, Inc.)

I just wanted to provide some feedback on your product and the technical support I have received. The product has exceeded expectations, and your support team is stellar! They always provide prompt answers and solutions for the issues I have reported. I wish every vendor we deal with could be like DevExpress.

Kevin L McDonald, Information Systems Manager

As far as DevExpress and the support goes it is simple incredible. I am basically the only person here in IT for a 65 or so employee company so between purchasing, configuring, installing, setting up and maintaining the entire IT infrastructure it does not give me a lot of free time. However using your development tool have simple made it possible. I can create quality programs here for the Quality and Engineering departments to control all their daily work. It would not be possible without their products and support and I recommend DevExpress to everyone out there developing programs.

Bruce L. Scheffler

One can get spoiled when help is beyond ones expectations. And believe me DevExpress has done an OUTSTANDING job of supporting your users. I have spent the last two weeks trying to get understand help from other software packages and they really do not care about their users. You on the other hand do not quit until the user is satisfied. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I find it refreshing that you have a terrific product but that you also go beyond what is required to help us the users. Thanks again for all your help and keep up the great work and terrific products you offer.

BJ Baek, IT Administrator (VSL Korea)

The 3-Tier architecture with the application server was a very expensive technology before. And XAF new security system is also a perfect feature which is not easy to implement without XAF. So I feel lucky to choose XAF for my project platform. I love XAF, it helps me to develop nice business applications really quick.

Mark Hamilton

I downloaded your suite last night to trial your eXpress Applicaton Framework, loving how much donkey work it can save with regards to wiring up the UI and basic CRUD operations!

Eric Legault

Thank you Courtney!!! I've found this product indispensable. CodeRush and the References windows, plus the Xtra controls suite, comprise a formidable arsenal. I do a lot of Outlook add-in development and the XtraGrid and Scheduling components allow for some pretty killer messaging GUIs

Kim Maxwell, Group Database & GIS Manager (Mawson West Ltd.)

I have used eXpessApp Framework for 5 years. I developed a large data driven application for a company offering managed investment into tree farming. It was a multi-user, mission critical application that managed in excess of $550 million of investors' funds.

Daby Schuurmans, Sr. Software Engineer

I cannot say enough about DevExpress's support team and the service they provide. Let me tell you from firsthand experience. No question is a stupid question. They will answer all questions relating to their products without making judgments about your experience level. Do not spend your time spinning your wheels, but rather ask the real Pros from Dover (pun). In doing so, they make you feel that your question is their top priority and will not rest until it is resolved.

In addition, they will also lead you through the steps they followed to resolve your issue if you so desire and in my case that is particular every issue I have opened. They go to great lengths in explaining how they addressed the issue and provide references to samples that closely resemble the issue confronting you.

Maurice Richard

I'm glad I asked, it took me a bit of staring at the screen with a raised eyebrow to follow this approach. But thanks to the nifty demo you included, it was trivial to implement.

Great solution, great support! You guys always have our backs, and it's appreciated.

Steve Mol

What can I say about DevExpress controls? I first looked for a good GridView. By good, I mean something that actually allows you to ADD records to a table, not just change and delete. Why MicroSoft didn't allow "Adds" is beyond me.

I fell in love. Yes, the ASPxGridView does support "New" (Add) right out of the box - just drag and drop the control and attach a datasource. For most file maintenance pages, I can completely generate the page now in about 10 minutes.

For the more creative pages - stuff that requires special logic - they have multiple levels of templating, from the single column level all the way up to an entire pop-up edit panel. Built-in AJAX support makes it easy - even intuitive - to perform partial page updates without sending tons of data every time. With the ability to assign your own global Instance Names, your JavaScript can easily grab and change data, control states, whatever - anywhere on the page.

I've been using their controls for over a year now, and I have some bad news: I can't use the built-in Microsoft controls because my expectations are too high now.

Patrick Merrigan (Minnesota Hospital Association)

I've always appreciated the extraordinary capabilities of the DevExpress controls and the support has always been very good, My latest dilemma reinforced that because Vladimir of the DevExpress support team went above and beyond the usual very good support. He understood that I was struggling with some concepts and provided an example that clearly spelled out what needed to be done which allowed me to get the job done on time - thanks Vladimir and the DevExpress team.

Patrick Brick (Nvolved, Inc.)

I'm glad that DevExpress is so gracious at allowing us to use their grid because I think their product line really stands out from the competition in a couple of very important ways.

  • Their support, and available documentation, is above standard, allowing my questions or concerns to be addressed within a 1/2 hour.
  • The GridView has much better filter customization options which allow a developer to tailor the grid to the level of expertise of the user. Some users are not familiar with building their own queries, which is required in other competitive grid products out there.
  • The GridView has modal dialog editing capabilities which are very easy to implement, ultimately providing a very rich user experience quickly.
