Troubleshoot the DevExpress Menu in Visual Studio - Unified Component Installer

For some reason, the DevExpress menu may not load or some items may be missing. Please review DevExpress menu loading logs to determine the cause of the problem. This topic describes how to obtain diagnostic logs.

Follow the steps below to force the DevExpress menu to log diagnostic information:

  1. Close all Visual Studio instances (windows).
  2. Run the Windows Registry Editor (regedit.exe).
  3. Locate the following registry key:

    64-bit operating system:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\DevExpress\DevExpress Visual Studio Menu Integration

    32-bit operating system:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DevExpress\DevExpress Visual Studio Menu Integration

  4. Add the LogEnabled (DWORD (32-bit) ) value and set it to 1.

  5. Run Visual Studio and wait until the problem is reproduced.
  6. Close Visual Studio.
  7. Open the %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\DevExpress folder and look for log files such as menu_integration_201469145810819.log.
  8. Send log files to https://supportcenter.devexpress.com/.
