                                  • We have an MVC application written in C# which uses XTRA REPORTS

                                    We used the ShowPrintDialogOnOpen to get the print dialog while displaying the PDF of the XTRA reports

                                    After the Google Chrome 77 update, the option does not work anymore (Print dialog does not open when the PDF of the report is loaded)

                                    Can you please let us know if there is a hotfix release planned/scheduled to address this bug?

                                    Please let us know

                                    Thank you

                                Hello,
                                This issue was fixed in version 19.1.7 in the scope of the ASPxDocumentViewer - Print Report button does not work after Google Chrome Update 76.0.3809.132 ticket. You can upgrade to version 19.1.7 to resolve the issue.

                                  Thanks for the update! I am assuming that the same fix is available in the 19.2.5 version. Please confirm.

                                  Thank you

                                  We upgraded our devexpress to 19.2.5, ran the reports, the PDF loads but the print dialog does not load at all. We have the option ShowPrintDialogOnOpen  set to true.

                                  Hello,
                                  The hotfix is also included in version 19.2.5. Would you please clarify if you are using our Document Viewer to export report to PDF (in this case, provide us with the source code of a view which contains the viewer) or you create and export reports to PDF in code without the Document Viewer. Please also clarify if you are using iFrame to show PDF.

                                  We do not use the documentviewer, we use the export reports to PDF in code

                                  Here is the snippet of the code.

                                  byte[] document = null;
                                              using (System.IO.MemoryStream ms = new System.IO.MemoryStream())
                                              {
                                                  report.ExportToPdf(ms, new DevExpress.XtraPrinting.PdfExportOptions() { ShowPrintDialogOnOpen = true });
                                                  document = ms.ToArray();
                                              }
                                              Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "inline; filename=" + report.Name.ToString());
                                              return File(document, "application/pdf");

                                  Hello,
                                  Thank you for the clarification. Please review the Why the PdfExportOptions.ShowPrintDialogOnOpen options doesn't work in Chrome of version 76 and newer thread where we discussed this behavior and a workaround for it. Should you have further questions, let me know.

                                  Actually it was one of my colleague, we tried the solution a few minutes back and that does not work either.

                                  We just want to know if and when the "ShowPrintDialogOnOpen" option work. If possible.

                                  Please advise.

                                  Hello,
                                  As I explained in the Why the PdfExportOptions.ShowPrintDialogOnOpen options doesn't work in Chrome of version 76 and newer ticket, this issue doesn't relate to our controls. There is also a special note in the ShowPrintDialogOnOpen help topic that the Print dialog is not displayed when users open a document in the following web browsers:

                                  • Google Chrome version 77 or later.
                                  • Microsoft Edge.

                                  If the workaround I published in that ticket doesn't work for you, provide me with a sample project that will allow me to reproduce the issue.
