                                  • Hi,

I miss an option to repeat a job every n minutes when creating a new job entry in the schedule. How could I achieve this? The maximum possible is a daily execution. What am I missing?

                                    Regards,
                                    Manfred

                                  Hi Manfred,
What you see is the moder UI interface that does yet come with all possible execution options. If you switch to the classic interface (the "General Settings" option), you'll be get more control of recurrent options. However, there will be still no minutes, only hours. To be honest, we did not really consider such a short time interval and for this reason we're very interested in your particular scenario and business domain. Would you please clarify how you use Report Server and what kind of a scheduled task you create?

                                  Thanks,
                                  Yaroslav

                                  Hi Yaroslav,

                                  Thank you for your reply.

Actually we need a minimum interval of 15 minutes. A report checks the contents of a database table for security-critical contents. If content of this type is found, several persons must be informed immediately via e-mail. And for this the report result document should be sent.

                                  Regards,
                                  Manfred

I appreciate the clarification. Do you wish to send an e-mail each 15 minutes regardless of whether it contains security-critical content or would you rather do that when the critical content actually changes (a database trigger that executes the scheduled task)?

                                • Manfred North 09.06.2019

If no security-critical content could be found, no e-mail should be sent. I wanted to achieve this by deactivating the option "Send a Blank Document".

                                Hi Manfred,
Thank you for the clarification. I discussed your scenario with the Report Server team. While we completely agree that it has its own merit, we won't be able to deliver a quick solution soon since we're already tightly scheduled. For this reason, we decided to go an extra mile to find a immediate workaround for you. I've attached a DOCX file with the corresponding instructions. Note that this solution is not documented and for this reason it comes with no warranties of any kind. Make sure to backup your database first.

                                Regards,
                                Yaroslav

This is great support. Thank you, Yaroslav!

Using the steps described I was able to set up a job execution on every 15 minutes.

Just a few more explanations from my side:
                                  - The database table ScheduledJob contains a serialized object of Type RecurrenceInfo as XML string.
                                  - Setting Type to "4" means using ReccurenceType.Minutely.
                                  - Setting Periodicity to "15" means a frequence of 15 minutes.

                                  You're very welcome, Manfred!
I confirm that your observations are correct, this is indeed the RecurrenceInfo type from our XtraScheduler Suite.

Just a quick follow-up: if you're happy with DevExpress products and support, I'd appreciate it if you can address a few questions my colleague raised in the How to export a PDF by calling an URL? thread.
This will help us understand how you use the R&D Server and what kind of improvements we can implement in future releases from which you and other customers can benefit.
Thank you for your feedback in advance.

                                  Regards,
