                                Hello,

Though XtraTabControl doesn't provide a property to set a distance between header pages, it is possible to achieve this required functionality in a custom descendant. Please refer to the How to add padding between tab headers in XtraTabControl thread where we discussed this question.
As for the second issue, I believe that the cause of this behavior is that your label appears behind XtraTabControl when you drop it on the form. In this case, right click it and click the "Bring to front" menu item. Please let me know if this helps.

                                  Hello,

Could you please send me the Designer.cs file of your form? I hope, it will help me determine the cause of this behavior.

Thank you. Now, I understand what you are trying to achieve. At the moment, XtraTabControl doesn't provide the capability to add controls to the header area. You can use CustomHeaderButtons to complete your task. Add a custom button, set its Kind to Glyph and Caption  to the necessary string. Please note that custom buttons do not support HTML text. As a workaround, you can prepare an image with the required HTML text and assign it to the custom button.
Should you have further questions, let me know.

Sure. I created a small project to demonstrate this approach. I hope it will be helpful.

how to set Custom header button border style?

                                • Pavel (DevExpress Support) 08.20.2019

                                  Hello,

We do not support the capability to raise the CustomHeaderButtonClick event when only a certain area of the button is clicked.
As for your question about the CustomHeaderButton border style, you can control it using the button's Appearance.BorderColor property. Please let me know if this is what you need.
