                                  • In the sample project, I want to be able to pass the selected value from the comboBox SelectedIndexChanged  event to a method in the code behind.
This method will use the parameter passed to fetch the amount from a database and return it to the Amount column. There is a condition that when the selected value is "Tax" then the value for amount is set to 99. This value 99 is hard-coded and I don't want that. I want it to be fetched from a database.

Currently the a value is returned using custom jsproperties but everything is hard-coded. I want to be able to pass a parameter and use it to fetch the some data from the server and pass it back to another column which is the Amount column.

                                    Hope my explanation is clear.

                                    Please help

                                    Thanks

                                Hello,
To obtain a certain row value of a grid, use the GetRowValues method. As for obtaining values from a data base, apply WebMethods. I have modified your example to demonstrate a general idea of this approach.
Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Looks like you did not understand my requirements or did not open my sample project.
Please open my sample project and see how it is working.

                                  1. When I select "Tax" from the drop-down comboBox, the amount column is automatically populated with the a value (say 99) and it also become ReadOnly to not allow editing.
                                  2. But when any other value is selected from the drop-down, I have to type a value in the amount column.
                                  3. The problem I want you solve is this: The value (99) that is automatically populated in the Amount column when Tax is selected from the drop-down combobox is hard-coded. I don't want that. I want to be able to pass a value as a parameter from the drop-down combobox to the code-behind and to fetch the matching amount from a database and return it to the Amount column.

                                  Hope this clear.
