                                  • I updated my CodeRush today to the latest version. After opening Visual Studio, I got the register your product window. When I click Register Your Product the window disappears and nothing happens.

I tried to go to the CodeRush menu > About > Register Your Product but I get the same results.

                                Hello Michael,

I am concerned to hear that you are experiencing this problem after updating our tools.

I have tried to reproduce it locally, but clicking the "Register Your Product" link works as expected on my machine. It is possible that this is a permissions-related issue.  Would you please launch Visual Studio via the "Run as Administrator" and check whether or not this makes a difference?

If this does not help, please do the following:

                                1. In Visual Studio click the "CodeRush | Support | Extension Folder..." to open a folder where CodeRush for Roslyn extension is installed.
                                2. Go to the "Trial" folder.
                                3. Launch the "DevExpressCodeRushRegistration" application, click the "Registered Installation" button, provide your DevExpress.com account credentials and click the "Log In" button to finish the registration process.

Please let me know whether or not this helps.

Had a similar thing today where when starting VS it stated my trial was over for Coderush, when I had fully registered it.  Very annoying and disappointing.

When I click CodeRush | About it says trial expired. If I click anything else in the menu nothing happens including the Extension Folder button.

I think I found the problem. Our company uses AppLocker to prevent malware and other programs from running from the AppData directory. CodeRushWelcome.exe isn't signed by DevExpress so it's getting blocked by AppLocker.

                                  Hello Stephen,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

It looks like the problem you ran into has another nature than the issue Michael reported.  I've created a separate ticket on your behalf to examine this problem in detail:

                                  Hello Michael,

Thank you for your response and sharing your findings with us.  They were of great help for us!

The CodeRushWelcome.exe tool is indeed not signed for some reason.  I have logged this as a separate report and we will fix this soon:

Installation - The CodeRushWelcome.exe tool is not signed

In the meantime, please do the following:

                                  1. Run the attached "LocateInstFolder.bat" file to find a folder where CodeRush for Roslyn was installed.
                                  2. Open that folder in Windows Explorer.
                                  3. Go to the "Trial" sub folder.
                                  4. Launch the "DevExpressCodeRushRegistration" application, click the "Registered Installation" button, provide your DevExpress.com account credentials and click the "Log In" button to finish the registration process.

Please let me know whether or not this helps.
