                                  • Hi,

I am trying to use the ASPxTreeList, but cant see a way to show vertical scrollbars.

I have set the height to 200px and my items exceed that height when fully expanded.

Even though the height has been set, the TreeList seems to expand itself vertically to fit all the items.

I cannot see a property to enable Vertical Scrollbars.

Help with this would be appreciated.

                                    Regards

                                    Simon

                                  Hi Simon,

Our ASPxTreeList doesn't support vertical scrolling. I suggest that you use paging. I've converted your question to a suggestion to allow other customers to track it.

                                  Thank you
                                  Nathan

                                  Hi Plato,

THanks for the very prompt response.

Unfortunately, the Paging suggestion will not work for me as I have a fixed space in a table that I need to fit the ASPxTreeList into - i.e. 200px wide X 500px high. THis means that I need to enable wrapping in the cells and this in turn causes the height of the TreeList to change when some pages contain wrapped rows and some do not.

THis was to replace a Single Column ASPXGridView that I was using in some pages (Which I now have a problem with since upgrading to 8.1.1) and also the Telerik RADTreeView that I was having to use in some others, but will have to stick with those until I can get a version that works with my pages.

                                  Hi Simon,

If you want, I can send you a sample that demonstrates how to place the ASPxTreeList within a container. In this instance, the container will automatically display vertical scrollbars when required. Unfortunately, this can be implemented if the ASPxTreeList doesn't display its Column Header Panel (treeList.Settings.ShowColumnHeaders = false).

As for implementing vertical scrolling, this isn't something we are planning to implement in the near future. For now, we are working on Data Editing and Exporting.

                                  Thank you
                                  Nathan

                                  Hi Nathan,

If you could send me sample code on how to do this, it would be very much appreciated.

                                  Regards

                                  Hi Simon,

                                  Here you go:

                                  [ASPx]
                                  <div style="overflow: auto; height: 192px; border: solid 1px black;"> <dxwtl:ASPxTreeList runat="server" ...> <Settings ShowColumnHeaders="false" /> ... </dxwtl:ASPxTreeList> </div>
                                  Thank you
                                  Nathan

We have provided the horizontal and vertical scroll bars for the ASPxTreeList. They are hidden by default. You can display the scroll bars via HorizontalScrollBarMode and VerticalScrollBarMode properties.
