                                  • Hi,

I have a scenario where there are some views that take a few seconds to load. The user is led into the belief that the UI has frozen. I would like to display a status indicator while the view is being loaded or refreshed to allow the user to know that the app has not frozen.

I can't figure out where would be the best place to hook in the code to show and hide the status indicator (I cheat and run an indicator as an independent process so there is no worry about UI threading etc...)

Ideally I would like this behaviour for all list Views in XAF at the same time so I am looking for a general solution not a specific "just for this view" solution.

                                    Thanks.

                                Hello Mark,

                                Thank you for contacting us.
At this time I have only a low level solution on where to put your code.
The idea is to make your own IDataStore, and implement required events in the SelectData and ModifyData methods.
You can also handle Session events.
Please let me know if this solution suits your needs.

                                Thanks,
                                Dennis

                                  Hi Dennis,

That is a brilliant suggestion! I already have a custom IDataStore so this will be trivial to implement there.

I love when you answer support tickets :-).

I don't want to step on any toes but would you be able to take a quick look at Q352123. I know the answer is sufficient for my needs, but I was hoping to just hook into the filter functionality as that will be much less maintenance down the road. If not, that's ok too I understand.

                                  Thanks again.
