                                  • Hi,
I want to create TcxTreeView which can be edited. I do not want to use bound TcxDBTreeView. I want to create unbound TcxTreeView's nodes and set nodes' indices programmatically as you have done in the attachment sample provided from you. I want to convert attached sample from bound to unbound mode with the same functionality.
I can not set the index of node programmatically.
                                         How can i do that.
                                         Thanks in advance.

                                  Hello Mehmet.
                                  Thank you for your message.
Unfortunately, there is no way to set nodes indexes in code. However, it is not quite clear to me what functionality you are trying to achieve. Please provide us with more detailed information about it in a step-by-step manner. I'll examine it and do my best to find a solution for you.
                                  Best regards,
                                  Ingvar.

                                  Hi,
In the sample you can see there is bound tcxdbtreeview. I just want to convert db bound sample to unbound tcxtreeview with the same functionality. I do not want to use tcxdbtreeview instead i want to use tcxtreeview to accomplish same goal.
                                      Thanks.

                                  Hello Mehmet.
                                  Thank you for the response.
In the attachment you'll find a small example that demonstrates how to implement the necessary functionality using TcxTreeView. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding this.
                                  Best regards,
                                  Ingvar.

                                  Hi,
The example you provided doesn't show how to save/load tree to database. In DBTree.zip that i sent you before. There are pr_id, pr_parent, name columns in DB. How can i do the same thing with TcxTreeView. I do not know how to keep track indexes of the tree nodes. How to store them to DB and restore them from DB.
                                       Thanks.

                                  Hi Mehmet,
Note, that by design, TcxTreeView is just a wrapper for a standard TTreeView (which is a subclass the Windows TREEVIEW control) ... to support CX-styles. The inner TreeView serves all data managing capabilities. Therefore, you should use approaches suggested for the standard TTreeView. By design, this control doesn't have a data-aware counterpart. If you wish to populate its items from a data source, you should iterate through the records of this data source, and add items to the TcxTreeView one-by-one, using the methods, illustrated in Ingvar's sample.
At the same time, I recommend that you take a look at the ExpressQuantumTreeList control included in you VCL Subscription. It provides a native data-bound control - TcxDBTreeList, which allows you to visualize these structures without additional coding.
                                  Thanks,
                                  Serge
