I just download the product installer and try to update my products, it works fine but it does not update my old ASP.NET Suite :-(

Hi,

The ASPxGrid and Editors Library is a very outdated product. We don't include it in our installation packs starting from v2007 vol 3. We've substituted it by a more flexible and powerful ASPxGridView and Editors Suite.

Thanks,
Serge

Hello Serge,

then one more "stupid" Question, how can I install my product -> "DXperience ASP.NET v2009 vol 1.5 released on 29 Jun 2009"
or on the other side how can I verify the installation :-)

When I install all released products between the old and the newest an update of my application is possible?

Greetings JJR

Hi,

If you need to install the ASPxGrid and Editors Library, please use older DXPerience versions prior to v2007 vol 3. You can access older builds via your Client Center account. Take a look at the following Web page for step-by-step instructions:
  http://www.devexpress.com/Order/FAQ/FAQ11.xml

NOTE: It's possible to install different DXperience major versions (e.g. v2007 vol 3 and v2009 vol 1) side-by-side because they are absolutely independent.

The new ASPxGridView and Editors Suite is a completely different product built using quite different techniques. If you wish to migrate to this Suite, you should re-design your pages from scratch.

Thanks,
Serge

Hi Serge,

OK I understand the new ASPXGridView and Editors Suite is the state of the art.

I'm fine with re-designing my application from the scratch :-)

But which assembly or dll I must add in my toolbox view to use the ASPXGridView and Editors Suite....

In the old installations some links were created during the installation, so I could easily access the demos and so on....

These links didn't appear in my last installation :-(

JJR,

By default, our installer automatically registers all the necessary components on your Toolbox. Please try to run the ToolboxCreator tool (<Start Menu>\Programs\Developer Express v2009 vol 1\Components\Tools) or re-install the DXperience in Repair mode. If the problem still persists, check if you're using the VS Express Edition. If so, please follow the instructions from \the following Knowledge Base article:

How to use DevExpress components with Express versions of Visual Studio

I'm looking forward to hearing about your progress.

Thanks,
Serge

Hello Serge,

during repair and modify I retrieve the following error message ->
Cannot create file "C:\Program Files\DevExpress 2009.1\Components\DXperienceUniversal-9.1.5.log". Das System kann den angegebenen Pfad nicht finden

JJR,

There was a problem in our installation engine: In some situations, it erroneously created the LOG file in another location. I recommend that you completely reinstall the DXperience. This should resolve this error.

Thanks,
Serge

Hello Serge,

Cannot register toolbox items

I have attached the log!

Please check the following report which seems to describe exactly the same problem:
  [Beta] Setup errors

Do our suggestion help?

Regards,
Serge
