If a WebChart is linked to an sqldatasource, is it possible to put the datasource into datareader mode to speed up access?

Thanks very much,

Andy

Hi Andy,

Setting the SqlDataSource to the DataReader mode won't speed up WebChartControl performance in any way, because the WebChartControl doesn't support a server mode binding approach.
This means that the chart cannot operate with a partial dataset: the entire data collection should be provided to the chart's data source.
To improve performance, try recommendations described in this thread: reload data on webchartcontrol.
In addition, we've decided to implement the following feature in one of our future updates: Series View - Create a lightweight Series View, which provides less drawing abilities but allows to quickly draw a large number of points or lines.

Thanks,
Alex
