Hello Olivier,

Unfortunately, this functionality isn't supported by the PivotGrid. We have a suggestion in the support center which asks for this functionality: Implement Excel 2007 like hierarchical filter with an incremental search and multiselect with the Shift button. Please login and begin tracking it to be notified when it is implemented.

Thanks,
Ivan

My request is different from the post you are referring to. I'm talking about filter on a single column. Here an example of what I want:
Name
------
Jim
John
Oliver

when I start to filter on this column I key the J letter, so Jim get highlighted ( that is expected behavior) - then I key the O letter, "Oliver" get highlighted - that is not expected behavior - I'm expected to have "John" highlighted as it is an incremental search from "Jo"

Hello Olivier,

This behavior is a correct search behavior for any list box. We're not going to change it.
Where did you see a different behavior? You mentioned xGrid. Did you mean XtraGrid?

Thanks,
Ivan

what I see is:
incremental search in XtraGrid. (multiple character taken into consideration for highlight)
so for
Name
------
Jim
John
Oliver
when I key J then O. I see Jim then John highlighted

single character search in PivotGrid.
so for
Name
------
Jim
John
Oliver
when I key J then O. I see Jim then Oliver highlighted

I would like to have ncremental search in PivotGrid.

Hi,

Thank you for the clarification. Now, you suggestion is clear. I've converted this question to the suggestion.

Thank you, Marina

Hello Olivier,

You've described the behavior when the OptionsColumnFilter.FilterPopupMode is set to the List value. The PivotGrid shows a checked list box instead of a list, which has a different behavior. You can check this by setting the OptionsColumnFilter.FilterPopupMode property value to CheckedList. Unfortunately, the PivotGrid supports only checked list mode, and we never received a suggestion to make a list instead of a checked list box. Instead, we were asked many times to make a search box in the filter popup.

I'll keep this suggestion in the database. We will consider implementing it in future releases.

Thanks,
Ivan
