ToolboxCreator stop properly working after VS2008 + .NET3.5 SP1 has been installed

I followed step described in http://www.devexpress.com/issue=B96585
              "1) Launch C:\Programme\Developer Express .NET v8.2\Tools\ToolBoxCreator.exe /ini:ToolBoxCreator.ini /LEAVEPACKAGE
              2) Launch devenv /ResetSkipPkgs /log
              3) Send the %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Visual Studio\8.0\ActivityLog.xml file to us." (but proper version in path is 9.0)

          Hello Veniamin,

Sorry, we still can't reproduce this problem. We have tried several times, but without any success. Please clarify one point. Did you install Service Pack Beta? You should uninstall it before install SP1.

          Thank you, Marina

No, I just installed the Final VS2008 SP1 yesterday.
No betas of SP1 or some else has been installed before.

Toolbox creator worked fine then I installed DX 8.2.1. Аnd only WinSCP (a free SFT client), and VS2008SP1 of course has been updated after that.

If I make a video of my attempts, will it help You?

I found a very simple solution for me - run ToolboxCreator with "Run as administrator" command and everything ok.
Than I tried to run ToolboxCreator like did it before and didn't see items again.
Than "Run as administartor" - ok!

Result ok, but strange. Then I simple runs ToolboxCreator no errors or Vista UAC privilegie escalation window showing and in past ToolboxCreator perfectly worked without "Run as administrtor".
(My Vista account has administrator privilegies, of cource)

          Hello Veniamin,

We are happy to know that you have resolved this issue. We don't know what the cause of this strange behavior is. It's impossible to recreate it on our end. Possibly, we will be able to help you if you provide your installation log.

          Thanks,
          Marina

          Hello,

You need to uninstall our suite, and install it again without using your workaround. At the end of installation, you'll see the Save Log button. Please save this log, and send us.

          Thank you, Marina

          Ok,I dit it.

          1) Uninstall DX 8.2.1
          2) Install DX 8.2.2 - before install begin, Vista asked me about privilegie escalation. After install finished I checked toolbox items in VS - OK.
          3) Normally run ToolboxCreator - no any warning, no items in VS.
          4) "Run as administrator" ToolboxCreator - Vista UAC window shown, items in VS exists.

          Hello,

Thank you for your log file. We have fixed possible flaws that can be caused by this problem. However, we advise you reinstall the Visual Studio 2005, because it seems you have some troubles with it:

          2008.08.14 12.41.30     XtraEditorsWizardInstaller2005     Unhandled exception: System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: ЌҐ г¤ «®бм ©вЁ з бвм ЇгвЁ "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\ItemTemplates\VisualBasic\RibbonFormVB.v8.2.zip".
          ...

          Thank you, Marina

Marina, I glad that I help you.

          BUT!
Visual Studio 2005 installed as a part of MS SQL 2005 with next components:
          Microsoft Visual Studio 2005
          Version 8.0.50727.867 (vsvista.050727-8600)
          IDE Standard
Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Applications
          SQL Server Analysis Services

And I think in this case the path "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\ItemTemplates\VisualBasic\" may not exist by default, because no VB component has been installed.
Also I afraid that it is not possible/no effect for me to reintall VS 2005.

For application development with DX I use Visual Studio 2008 Professional.
          And one more thing.
Installer _successfully_ register VS2008 toolbox items even with error in log. And Toolbox creator succesfully register toolbox items, but _only_ then it run with "Run as Administrator".
And in past ToolboxCreator normally worked with my configuration (parts of VS2005 + VS2008Pro) without any workarounds.

          Hello,

We believe, we have fixed this problem. You shouldn't experience it in the next version. As for your question, this folder is created by default. It contains the 1033 folder in which standard studio templates for VB were placed. As far as I understand from your post, you don't install the full Visual Studio 2005 version. That's why you saw errors. However, these errors don't influence the installation process in general. Please note there won't be any problem with the ToolBox in the next version.

          Thank you, Marina
