Attachment: create.log (34472 bytes)

On a machine with Vista 64 , VS2008 , SQL 2005 , SP1 Beta and microsoft Standard wireless mouse ,
i upgraded from 8.2.1 to 8.2.2 and icons are lost.

I completely reistalled the components, but the problem is still there.

on attached log file, the reason of failure is

"Failed registering for 90
Error - Specified cast is not valid.
Stack - at EnvDTE._DTE.get_Windows()
   at ToolBoxCreator.toolBoxForm.ExecuteNonWpf(String[] args)"

Thanx in advance
Michael

Hello Michael,

Thank you for the report. This is a known problem (Wireless mouse disables toolbox item registration in VS 2008 web designer) and it is not related to our controls directly. Please refer to the corresponding thread to learn more about a solution.

Thanks,
Stan.

Both Duplicates that refer to wireless mouse problem, says that only the asp controls are not registered in the toolbox and
winform controls are ok.

In my issue, only wpf controls are registered as log file says, and all the others have problem.
This is the reason i send you the log and created a new report.

I have wireless desktop set keyboard and mouse on the same receiver.

Thanx in advance
Michael

Hello Michael,

I believe that this is a similar problem. Please try to replace the mouse device on your machine and reinstall our suites. Make sure that you are installing the latest version of our controls 8.2.2. If this doesn't resolve the problem, please send us the activity log:

1) Launch C:\Programme\Developer Express .NET v8.2\Tools\ToolBoxCreator.exe /ini:ToolBoxCreator.ini /LEAVEPACKAGE
2) Launch devenv /ResetSkipPkgs /log
3) Send the %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Visual Studio\8.0\ActivityLog.xml file to us.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,
Stan.

Hello,

i disabled the pointing device and run the toolbox creator and it is ok!!!

The problem now is on ExpressApp suite. With mouse disabled/enabled the
toolbox icons are not created.

Anyway, i created manually a toolbox group and it is ok.

Thanx
Michael

Hello Michael,

Thank you for the response. We have already been reported about the same problem and managed to reproduce it (ToolboxCreator - VS 2008 sp1 - Сannot create toolbox items). We'll do our best to find a solution ASAP.

Thanks,
Stan.
