                                  • Since MVC does not have a Designer, you probably cannot provide any design tools to automatize configuration process but you have a great tool like CodeRush which enable to hook into the code editor. There is a similar approach for string.Format method which in my opinion can be used for MVCx extensions. So when I'm over a format item parameter I can bring up a view and configure the format string as I like without having to modify the code. Can you prepare similar approach for MVCx controls? Maybe you can reuse same design forms as for ASP.NET controls?

                                    Best regards,

                                Hello Krzysztof,

Thank you for contacting us. Our CodeRush tool already provides a useful feature that may be helpful in your scenario:
High-speed MVC Development in Visual Studio with CodeRush and DevExpress MVC Extensions

Please refer to the How to start using MVC Extensions / Defining ToolBox Items report where we discussed a similar issue in greater detail.

Hello Mike, Thank you for links you provided. Unfortunately having code snippets or code shortcuts isn't the way I would like to see MVC and your components. I was developing ASP web applications for few years and I'm used to designers also used to your smarttag's setting forms for GridView and other kind of controls. Your controls provide a big range of settings and a lot of them are hard to track (sub properties). Having them in a nice and clear form would be a great and useful feature for me.

Thank you for your update. I agree that your idea may be a very good enhancement in the future.
