It is unclear what bug you are referring to and what you mean by "these tools don't work". Could you please provide an error message and a call stack?
XPOProfiler connects to an application via the network, and the version of DevExpress assemblies used by the application is not important for the profiler. However, if you updated the application configuration file using the profiler's menu command, the profiler writes assembly references of the DXperience version it is built with. So, you need to manually change these references to match the version and public key token of assemblies you rebuilt.
