                                  • I cannot regularly reprouce it, but multiple times a day the Group and Sort window gets a red X through it. Closing VS2010 and reopening it fixes it.

                                    Also, multiple times a day If I open a report in design to edit, it will not open and provides an "Object reference not set to an instance of an object' error.

                                    Steps to Reproduce:

                                Hi Scott,

                                Please check whether any third-party Visual Studio add-ons are installed (including the CodeRush or Refactor Pro)? If so, try to disable them before opening the Report Designer. Does this make any difference?
                                Please also try to debug the VS instance by using the approach shown in the How to obtain a design-time exception call stack thread.
                                Also, provide us with a call stack if an exception is thrown.

                                I do not have any addons installed except devexpress core and i unload that because I dont use it.

                                I'm not sure the VS debug info will help since VS itself does not crash. I was hoping the callstack in the second screenshot would help.
