If you don't want to renew your subscription, you are fully protected. You can continue using all licensed components and tools without further payment. If you allow a subscription to lapse and do not renew after a year, you can still update your subscription at a later time at a higher price (Pricing varies based upon length of time since the expiration of a subscription/license).
