How Products Are Delivered and Updated

All DevExpress products are sold on a subscription basis. When you purchase a suite, you receive one-year subscription from DevExpress. This means that within the first 12 months from purchase date, you are guaranteed to receive product updates, including new features and bug fixes for the product or package you’ve licensed free of charge. When the subscription period expires, you can renew your subscription for an additional year. If you do not renew your subscription, you can continue to use the product you’ve licensed for as long as you wish but you would not receive new versions or updates unless you renew your subscription.

The following is a summary of the benefits available to you when purchasing a subscription:

• You will receive all product updates issued by DevExpress for a 12 month period (from date of purchase) for the subscription you have purchased. If you've purchased a Subscription, you will receive updates, new versions and new products we introduce for this package free of charge for a 12 month period from date of purchase. This policy applies to all DevExpress products engineered for Visual Studio .NET, Delphi, and C++ Builder.
• Once you've purchased a Subscription (be it for an individual product suite or a package), you only need to pay approximately 40%-45% of the initial purchase price to renew your subscription for each subsequent year. If you don't want to renew your subscription, you are fully protected. You can continue using all licensed components and tools without further payment. If you allow a subscription to lapse and do not renew after a year, you can still update your subscription at a later time at a higher price. (Pricing varies based upon length of time since the expiration of a subscription/license.)
• If you don't renew a subscription, you get free bug fixes for one additional year.
• For all subscriptions, we release a major update twice per year. Note that you can use a new major version of a product side-by-side with its previous version on the same machine (in different projects).
• Minor updates with bug fixes are released approximately once a month, or more frequently, when required.
• For Visual Studio Developers: Our Project Converter tool - available free of charge - can automatically update your projects so that they refer to newer versions of our components. (Video Tutorial)
