What's New in v3
Gantt View
This view type allows you to specify complex tasks sequences - a task or multiple tasks can be required to be completed before other tasks can be started. Once you've specified a required sequence, it is automatically visualized across a horizontal timeline. Task dependency is shown via connector lines. This view type can display completion percentage for each individual task. An overall progress indication option is also available.
End-users have complete control over task flow. They can edit task dependencies, create new task connectors and of course re-schedule individual tasks.
ExpressQuantumGrid Used as a Task Pane
If you have purchased the ExpressQuantumGrid Suite, you can now easily design a Microsoft Outlook style Task Pane. There's now a special component that binds a grid to a scheduler and implements all required interaction functionality.
Holidays Sub-system
The ExpressScheduler now provides a holiday management sub-system. With its help, you can do the following:
- Create holidays manually or load them from a Microsoft Outlook compatible file.
- Highlight holiday dates within the Date Navigator control.
- Create all-day appointments for all holidays with a single method call.
- Distinguish holidays by their location (e.g. country).

Aggregate Storage Component
Previously, ExpressScheduler could only work with a single storage. This meant that all appointments needed to be stored in one place - a condition that sometimes required you to re-structure your data just to display it in a calendar. This was not the only shortcoming posed by the one data source limit. You also were unable to optimize your application's performance by breaking data into several blocks and thus implementing smart data management depending on your application's requirements. With the release of the ExpressScheduler v3, we've solved all these problems by allowing you to bind the scheduler to several data storage components simultaneously. There’s now a new aggregate storage component that handles scheduler-dataset interaction when multiple data sources are involved.
Microsoft Office 2007 Style Navigation
You can now enable buttons that allow end-users to navigate to the closest preceding or subsequent appointment relative to the current view. If multiple resources are visible, navigation buttons are displayed for each individual resource.

Note that if buttons cannot fit into the scheduler vertically, they are automatically collapsed. In their collapsed state, they display only arrows; the caption’s text is hidden.
