Card Layouts

Cards can be arranged into columns or rows, with a down then across or across then down data flow.
The size of the cards visible on screen depends upon their expansion state and the following settings/conditions:

• End-User Card Resizing
  End-users can drag the card separator lines to resize cards horizontally. These lines are available by default and can be hidden when necessary. As you can imagine, card resizing can be prohibited too.
• Automatic Card Height Adjustment
  Card height can be automatically adjusted so that its row caption and row cell contents are displayed entirely. When active, row caption and cell contents are displayed in multiple lines and cards are automatically stretched vertically. You can change the number of lines to be occupied by cell contents in this mode.
• Automatic Card Width Adjustment
  With this feature introduced in the ExpressQuantumGrid v6, you can fit cards to the View thus eliminating partially displayed cards. Please refer to the corresponding section of the What's New in v6 white paper for additional information.
• Suppressing Empty Fields
  Card Views can suppress the display of fields with null values, and thus provide end-users with a more readable display.
• End-User Row Visibility Customization
  End-users can hide and show individual card rows using the Card View's Customization form.

Row Layout

In additon to the capability to reorder card rows within a card, the ExpressQuantumGrid v6 introduces a new level of flexibility to row layout. With this version, you and your end-users are able to arrange card rows within several columns or rows. Please refer to the More Flexible Row Layout section of the What's New in v6 white paper for additional information.

Caption Rows, Expanding and Collapsing Cards

Card caption rows are non-editable card rows that are most commonly used for card identification. Caption rows display card expand buttons that are used to expand and collapse individual cards. Caption rows remain visible when collapsing a card.

• Customizable Expand Button Visibility
  You can show or hide card expand buttons that allow end-users to expand and collapse cards. When cards are collapsed only card caption rows are displayed.
• Customizable Card Caption Text Position
  You can align the text within card captions to any edge both vertically or horizontally.

Expandable Category Rows

The ExpressQuantumGrid v6 allows you to group card rows into categories using category rows. End-users are able to expand and collapse categories to display more or less details in cards. Please refer to the corresponding section of the What's New in v6 white paper for additional information.

Card Scrolling

If cards do not vertically fit into a View, they will display scroll buttons which allow end-users to access all card rows.
