New View Types

The following new View types are available with the release of the ExpressNavBar v2.

• Microsoft Office 2007 Style Views
  Both Navigation Pane and Explorer Bar layouts are available. Each layout type can be presented in three color schemes used in Office applications - Blue, Black or Silver. Thus, you get six new view types in total.

Collapsible Navigation Pane

Similar to the Microsoft Office Navigation Pane, our Navigation Pane views can now display a button allowing end-users to collapse the control. When collapsed, the ExpressNavBar enables you to change the active group or display the active group's content in a popup window. Collapsed ExpressNavBar also displays a few of the current group's links so that they are immediately available.

Keyboard Support

The ExpressNavBar now fully support keyboard manipulations, including the following:

• The navigation bar can now get input focus so that you can use arrow keys to navigate between groups and links. When a group is focused, press ENTER or SPACE to toggle its expanded state. The same keys can be used to activate the focused link's functionality.
• Accelerator keys are now supported. When you specify captions for groups or items, you can use the ampersand to indicate which character will be used as the accelerator key. If a character is specified, end-users will be able to use the ALT+character combination for fast access to the appropriate element.

Design-Time Customization Improvements

Groups and links can now display selector glyphs, which can be clicked to access the corresponding element's properties in Object Inspector. Group selectors can also be double-clicked to expand the corresponding group.

Properties and events are now structured more logically. For instance, there are now Options... properties that contain three sets of settings - those related to Explorer Bars Views, to Side Bar Views and settings common for both view types.
