Gantt View displays appointments (common term for the Gantt view is 'tasks') as horizontal bars along the timescales, shows the current schedule status using percent-complete shadings and displays dependency relationships between appointments.
Key features of the Gantt View include:
- Hierarchical resources
Resources can be structured in hierarchical manner. To reflect resource organization, a tree structure can be implemented, in which each resource is linked to a parent resource (node). The ResourcesTree control can be bound to the SchedulerControl to display a tree of resources.
- Auto height of resources
While the number of resources that are simultaneously displayed on the screen is constant and the number of appointments assigned to each resource is different, the height of each resource can be automatically changed to fit resource appointments and free space can be reallocated to display as many appointments as possible.
- Four types of dependencies between appointments
Relationships between activities (in this kind of View activities is another name for tasks or appointments) are called task (appointment) dependencies. They tell you which tasks have to end before a current one can start. Supported dependency types are: Finish-to-Start, Finish-to-Finish, Start-to-Start, Start-to-Finish. A dependency is graphically depicted as a line with an arrow at one end, drawn between appointments.
- Multiple-parent and multiple-child appointment relations
Multilple dependencies can be assigned to an appointment.
- Percent-complete shadings
The completion status of a task can be displayed with a dark colored part of the appointment body or with a percent number.
- Drawing dependency lines with less intersections
Enhanced path search algorithm prevents the view from becoming cluttered and unreadable.
