On-form Object Access
At the end of the day, a chart component library is not worth much if it is not easy and intuitive to use. After all, who wants to spend countless hours fighting with a control just to make it do what it should do in a fraction of that time. As such, we've engineered the XtraCharts Suite to deliver an unforgettable design-time experience and guarantee your ability to deliver business solutions in the shortest possible time. With the XtraCharts Suite, you can select nearly any chart element on-screen and immediately access its settings via the Properties window (selectable elements are always highlighted while moving your mouse pointer over them). This unique capability allows us to discard modal designer dialogs so you can work with the chart within the form designer and focus your energies on the chart and not on intrusive modal dialog windows.
Elements that can be accessed directly on the form include:
- Diagram;
- Panes;
- Axes that provide access to custom labels, strips, etc;
- Constant and Trend lines;
- Technical indicators;
- Legend and titles;
- Series and series point labels;
- The chart control itself.
Wizard Dialog
If you are new to XtraCharts and need to get up to speed fast, we provide a chart wizard that allows you to customize the main elements of a given chart. This dialog is automatically invoked each time you drop a chart control onto a form but can also be invoked at any time if you prefer using a traditional design-time customization dialog versus on-form object access.
The Wizard dialog can also be invoked at runtime, to give end-users total freedom in chart customization.
