ASPxFileManager

ASP.NET File Manager - Explorer-like Control

An explorer-like control providing your end-users with the capability to manage files and folders.

The ASPxFileManager control allows end-users to easily upload and select files, and even change folder structure (by renaming, moving and deleting files or folders). File and folder management capabilities are fully customizable and can be switched off if necessary.

The following is a list of features available to you. To try these features online, please visit our Online Demo Center.

  • The file list updates dynamically via callbacks.
  • Capability to rename, move and delete files and folders.

Folder content can be loaded on demand via callbacks. In this case, when an end-user clicks any folder, only its content is loaded onto the client via callbacks.

Client-Side Features

  • Client-side events allow you to perform custom actions before and after items are edited, and handle an error that can occur during editing.(Show Me)
  • You can use our client-side API to obtain a selected file, get a current folder path, get a file's full name and refresh all pages.
  • You can perform custom actions when a selected file is changed or opened.

DevExpress Core Framework for ASP.NET AJAX Controls

The entire DevExpress ASP.NET Product Line was built on top of a shared framework implementing numerous advanced features like callback-enabled processing, Client-side API, SharePoint Integration, Web Accessibility, cross-browser rendering and much more.

I consider myself partly as a developer and partly as a designer, I like to give controls their own looks. I also like to keep things as simple as possible. Having these two rules in mind I started to develop with your controlset. What I found extremely useful is the power to switch off 'skinned' rendering, this gave me the complete freedom to use my own CSS for customizing controls. This proved to work very well. Another nice option is to use the callback functionality of the controls. Although this is a little difficult to understand when using it for the first time, once you have mastered it, you will never want anything else.

What I also like is your support, you always listen and even have transferred some of my suggestions into the roadmap for 2011 (Image Gallery and fancier tooltips)!
