The DevExpress QuantumGrid is a fine piece of work. There are so many thoughtfully designed features help to build applications that are at once visually stunning, highly powerful, and intuitive. All this is relatively easy to achieve for the developer thanks to a straightforward interface and excellent documentation. We are developing tools to aid us in the maintenance and analysis of biomedical research data and have found the DevExpress grid component to be the best available of its kind. The brilliant implementation of run-time filters and grouping in the QuantumGrid create a very powerful interface for the user that minimizes the need for a detailed understanding of SQL. This means that we can spend our time concentrating on our science rather than getting bogged down implementing such useful user interface features. We can hardly wait to explore more of the features!
I'm an independent developer and I invested a lot of my own money in a component suite from another vendor, but they started doing things like changing the products in subscriptions so you end up paying more for components you won't ever need and even introducing new suites of controls that really belong in the existing suites then neglecting the existing suites so you have to pay extra to get the latest controls. They took quite some time to respond to support requests, and their API can only be described as cryptic. I know that with a subscription with DevExpress I'll get _all_ the latest controls, timely support and best of all a straight forward API. I wish I'd made the right choice to begin with. Thanks for rescuing me DevExpress!
We have evaluated several component vendors for our WinForms project. While other vendors have similar editing controls, none of them could match the superior functionality, speed and versatility of the DevExpress grid controls. It's flexibility allows us to cover all our current requirements and even inspires us to implement features that are attractive for the enduser without breaking the bank.
Speaking of support, I must say that I am in love with DevExpress support. I've been using their class libraries for a while now (mostly at work, but also somewhat on private projects), and the bugs/questions/issues I've encountered has been met with nothing but extraordinary support. Twice I've had beta-versions of next release available to me overnight by email fixing bugs I reported late the day before. Couple that with excellent products and I would say I'm a DevExpress fan for sure :)
I have been using DevExpress for several years now, and they have far out matched any other control suite out there. Using DevExpress allows me to complete my applications quickly, easily and with a lot of functionality. I love using these controls.
The support is outstanding! Whenever I have a question, I go straight to the Knowledge Base. I do a search there and if I don't find the answer, then I submit a question to the support staff. I have always received an answer within a timely manner. Most of the time though, I have found the answer within the Knowledge Base.
Thank you so much for providing these outstanding controls, and supporting them the way you do.
I develop software applications for the not-for-profit sector. Using DevExpress components allows me to develop much faster and effectively allows me to keep my prices down. I am now looking at moving some of my applications to use the ASP.NET MVC framework. Due to my good experiences with DX products, support and the community forums, I will only consider DevExpress components and frameworks to realize this goal.
We've been evaluating the DevExpress ASP.NET controls for a while and have found them to be the best out there. The ASPxPivotGrid is definitely the best pivot control available, and has saved us months of development time. It does almost everything you could want out of the box, but is still extremely easy to extend.
Unlike other component packages, DevExpress has great performance, which is very important on the web. There is good documentation available, and an extensive Knowledge Base with plenty of examples. I can definitely recommend DevExpress over any other controls package!
In my own company, I have already moved to DevExpress. I really like your components and your support is rock solid. I develop applications for the sports and broadcast industries and have been very pleased with your components. It's well worth the money!
I just wanted you guys to know.. and as I'm sure you're well aware, a lot of customers only write in to the “upper management” about complaints, and negative issues.. I've been one of them and have discussed support issues in the past with both Julian and Max. I don't just consider myself personally to be just a customer anymore..
I'm not sure if Vest is a new guy [I've not seen his name attached to anything], or not.. but he did an absolutely fantastic job answering my question and providing a 100% just-about-copy-and-paste ready solution to my issue.
His response to me completely epitomizes the “right” level of support.. not only did he provide me with a solution to my original question, he provided it in both fashions.. one for both client, and server side filtering on the new MVC grid. The solution worked right off the bat.. F5 ready.. the code was clear and concise.. and totally self contained working example [that I already learned a few other MVC things] and absolutely 100% satisfied in one shot the questions that I had.. and did so in such a fashion that I'm probably not going to have to write back and ask for further clarification/help.. [some of this is just not documented yet in the MVC Extensions]
I just wanted to take the time to point this out to you guys.. I couldn't be happier with this answer and definitely wanted to make sure you guys knew what a terrific job was done and how completely elated I was to receive it.
Top notch.
