I've been using your products for years after getting aggravated with your competitors. It's nice being able to work with your support team, who somehow always manage to make themselves appear like one of your own developers, on your own team.

I'm also a huge fan of Julian and his posts!

Simply put, DevExpress products are great. They support a wide range of technologies and you can always expect them to make good choices in supporting upcoming ones. The controls are very flexible, customizable and integrate well with each other and the range offerings. Productivity tools like CodeRush and Refactor really make Visual Studio shine.

However, and above all, their commitment to support and customer satisfaction is what really sets DevExpress apart. I'm glad to have worked with them before and hope to do it even more in the future.

I have found the DevExpress components, and particularly the framework, to be the most viable solution for developing robust, feature-rich applications for my business applications. As a freelance consultant I can, with the framework available inside DevExpress, produce great looking and functioning solutions for my clients in an affordable timeframe without the need to code every detail. This equates to faster end products and solutions with less capital outlay to my clients, and a significant cost saving to them. I will not be coding without DevExpress in the future.

We advise our customers to use DevExpress and we ended up using only DevExpress components for all of our developments:

VCL:

• Same license for all versions of Delphi. You don't have to buy a new component library each time a new version of Delphi is launched.
• Powerfull datagrid, editors, masks, and incredible printing system.

.NET:

• WinForms Controls are widely known for their performances and great characteristics.
• WPF and Siverlight libraries are great, with a very small learning curve.
• XPO is our key to create competitive projects with top performances.

Both:

• Accelerate development time drastically and decrease development costs.
• Same usage philosophy through VCL and .NET.

At first, I was very concerned about the support level and sample code base of third party controls. I knew the Microsoft ASP.NET controls very well and hence had an even higher barrier to learn something new and different. But I'm so happy that I moved to DevExpress. And I couldn't be happier with the functionality and support of DevExpress.

I was introduced to DevExpress through the VCL ExpressQuantumGrid, which I really enjoyed using. When my company moved to .NET, I took out a DXperience Enterprise subscription. Working extensively with the XtraGauges suite, as well as XtraEditors, the XtraGrid and WinForms skinning technology, your code didn't ever disappoint.

Another great aspect that deserves mentioning is your support. Competent answers, quick turnaround, professional release strategy, well-designed support site, usable web search feature - all top notch. Although occasionally, and understandably, delays sometimes exist with feature requests, your overall support response times are lightning fast compared to the industry average. Even if we get hit by a bug that DevExpress can't fix, we can fix it ourselves - that is the sense of security that comes with having the source code at hand - but so far, that has never happened!

When I get an idea, I use CodeRush to code it, I drag and drop some DevExpress controls and hey presto – solution! With tools like XPO, XAF and the very predictable and consistent controls, I rarely have to debug. In fact, I can spend an entire day just typing code and laying out UIs without once pressing F5 to “see if it will run”. Other vendors have nearly everything that DevExpress does, but the problem is each are simply standalone products and they don't all gel together. DevExpress is so consistent and reliable that all I have to do is have the idea and implement my plans.

At the end of the day, the choice is a matter of preference, experience and good taste. My preference is DevExpress.

As a developer, I see a lot of products out there for .NET development but none of them even begin to come close to DevExpress for quality, ease-of-use, and support. All other products that I have seen, used, or sampled have just been crude facsimiles of DevExpress. Nowhere out there is a team who is as dedicated to making my life as a developer as easy as you guys do. Not only does the DevExpress team help me to use your tools, you go far out of your way to teach good programming practices and introduce many topics that are far outside the scope of just selling .NET components. Your team should be commended for that. Your website and vast library of code examples have helped me more times than I can count. All the while you have provided me with this resource and asked for nothing more than my business, and every time you have thanked me for choosing DevExpress. Well, this time I want to say to the whole DevExpress team - thank you! I am very pleased that I chose DevExpress.

I definitely recommend anyone I know or do not know to use DevExpress. They have excellent tools that help speed-up our development and with their excellent technical support response time, it makes things even easier for anyone to develop something real quick. Thanks to your team's commitment in developing something so wonderful for the world to use. Extremely competitive.

In the past, I was fascinated by Michael Jordan as he helped make the NBA the greatest Basketball show on earth to watch. DevExpress is the Michael Jordan of .NET. Without your company, .NET can be really dull.

DevExpress makes it possible to be a one man-show. Hell, DevExpress makes it possible to be. Period. Without DevExpress' products, it would be very difficult to compete in the software market and nearly impossible to compete in the tailored made software business. I don't have the time to think about how I should write a web ASP.NET grid that – when clicking a header to sort a column – should callback to the server and fetch some 10 records from a million-row table and return it in a timely fashion.

DevExpress has impressed me with continued support which is first-class, quick, and helpful, without even a hint of sarcasm when the question is probably stupid! The forums are lively and informative and the webinars are first-rate, great learning vehicles.

I also appreciate the gradual development of the WinForms suite, in particular the RichEdit control (bring on floating objects!). Although we have yet to make the transition to WPF, if and when we do we can be assured that the main core elements are available from DevExpress.

In addition, we now use XPO exclusively in our applications and whilst we continue to explore its breadth and complexities, the immediate support and documentation available from DevExpress means we have no need to look at other ORM tools.

All-in-all a great job! Please pass my feelings onto all the guys there!

I'm a "veteran" software developer (20 years in industry) and have programmed many applications in very different technologies, from very old languages like Wang-COBOL, newer ones like Oracle Forms and Reports Developer in client-server mode, through web applications using Microsoft ASP.

My first web application was developed using native ASP pages and took me many nights and weeks to find out how to do very basic stuff, like grid paging, column sorting, record editing and all basic stuff that old programers like me used to have easily in other languages and IDEs in the past. I was really disappointed of what I did with basic ASP.NET controls and thought that web developing wasn't for me and that it was a step back in my programming experience, until I found DevExpress controls for ASP.NET.

Now, I'm able to develop complete, profesional, very nice and full of functionallities applications, in just few days. I'm on my way again. Programming web applications is fast, easy and fun with DevExpress!!! Thank you Mehul and team for all the tools and the awesome support.

If you want to develop business applications, XAF can cut down development time by 80%... Seriously, try it. You will never look back.

The soon to be released Domain Component Technology (In BETA now) for XAF and pure XPO will be invaluable to developers... I started playing with it and loving every bit of it.

As a consultant, I can be called upon to work in any number of locations, on any number of project types. The unifying factor across it all is CodeRush and Refactor lending a helping hand to deliver quality code on time and on budget. I've tried the competition, but have always come back to CodeRush with Refactor! because 'it just works' and doesn't get in the way of my workflow.

The simple extensibility of the product means I can write my own plugins for common tasks, but honestly I haven't had to - either because the functionality I need is already there or because the community has already created what I wanted. Add in all the DevExpress guys on Twitter (from the CTO down) and you have all the instant support you need!

Visual Studio has made writing code easier by taking much of the tedium out of it. CodeRush and Refactor! have taken that several steps farther. With them, writing better code is easier, and it is fun again.

I just want to let you know how grateful I am for the DevExpress tools! At some point I simply wondered if I was asking/expecting too much from Microsoft? Was I just weird? But then your tools came along! Isn't this just the most amazing tool set ever? You have done a great job! Very intuitive, flexible and exactly what I always wanted but never had as a programmer. Thank you so much! Keep up the good work!

The .NET components offered by DevExpress provide user-friendly interfaces, useful functionality, and are very professional. With all the components from DevExpress, I no longer need any other third-party component within my application. Their package includes powerful grids, tree lists, edit controls, printing systems, report systems... that ensure every customer requirement is met.

I do not consider myself to be a seasoned veteran at web development. However, using DevExpress DXperience ASP.NET certainly made the whole web development process much easier. Thanks for providing this robust set of controls!

I've been developing an application to raise funds for an NPO in South Africa and recently evaluated various Data Grids for both Silverlight and WPF. It's very apparent that apart from must-have CodeRush and Refactor tools available from DevExpress that the WPF/Silverlight Suite of controls is exceptionally rich in pedigree and feature set. The built-in editors available in the DataGrids such as amongst others, a Marquee progress bar, Calculator and Radio group controls surpass anything else around; and this coupled with a slick, powerful range of controls such as DX Printing and the exceptional Scheduling control set make this a must have addition to your WPF / Silverlight Control Library.
